They Don't Care About Bitcoin

They care about building out new infrastructure.

"This big selloff that we had in the crypto markets is creating a very unique opportunity that really made us all decide that this is the right time to pull the trigger."

That's a direct quote from Franklin Templeton, an asset manager with nearly $2 trillion under its belt.

They just acquired a crypto investment firm and are aggressively expanding their digital asset operation.

But this isn't one headline.

Virtually every major bank in the world is scrambling to hire blockchain talent. Crypto job postings more than doubled in Q1 compared to last year's average.

So if the institutions are hoovering up all this talent, what exactly is it for?

I'll tell you what it's not for.

It's not for buying Bitcoin. It's not for stacking ETH. Bitcoin is old news, and frankly, it's completely irrelevant when you look at where this asset class is actually headed over the next decade.

These firms are building for tokenised deposits. For bringing real-world assets, equities, bonds, commodities, onto blockchain rails. For settling global payments with stablecoins in seconds instead of days.

They're re-plumbing the entire financial system because they're going to make so much money from it.

They don't care about stacking Bitcoin as a hedge. That narrative is comfort food for retail clinging onto stories told 10 years ago. It's the story people tell themselves because it's simple and familiar.

The real story is quieter, less sexy, and far more consequential than anyone is letting on in the media.

The people with serious money aren't betting on coins. They're rebuilding infrastructure, and as Franklin Templeton literally said themselves, the selloff didn't scare them off it gave them the cover to acquire, hire, and build at a discount while everyone else has been burnt.

Bitcoin is not the story.

Ethereum is not the story.

Nor is Solana.

What the money is building for, that's the story.
